Argentina

  • The Road of The Seven Lakes is Absolutely Stunning

In a previous post, we filled you in on Argentina's main attractions and gave you some advice and insights about your itinerary and must-do's. One of the country's biggest tourist destinations, however, was left out simply because we felt that it deserved a post all on its own.

Meet the Road of the Seven Lakes - a 107 km road that crosses the Nahuel Huapi and Lanin national parks. The road itself provides access to several lakes in the forest region of the Patagonic Andes, as well as to other tourist attractions.

The seven major lakes after which the road was named are:
     :
    1. Machonico

    2. Escondido

    3. Correntoso

    4. Espejo

    5. Lacar

    6. Falkner

    7. Villarino

The road's beautiful scenery is often taken in by way of a long and romantic drive, but we have heard of more adventurous travelers actually experiencing the attraction's natural beauty by bike - a pretty novel, yet probably very exhausting, idea. Completely up to you.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and so we'll let the images do the talking.

So if you're an outdoorsy, adventure-seeking kinda guy or gal, Argentina, and specifically, the Road of the Seven Lakes is absolutely stunning, and a prime destination. Make sure you take the time to explore one of South America's most underrated attractions if you decide to make Argentina your next vacation locale.

    5. Adolfito Cambiaso: The "Michael Jordan" of polo, Adolfito, is currently ranked as the best player in the world. His 10-goal handicap, which basically means that he's awfully good, combined with his disarmingly good looks make him one of Argentina's most beautiful people. We love polo players.

    4. Yamila Diaz: A Sports Illustrated Swimsuit staple, Yamila after getting discovered on a vacation in Uruguay has since been seen in all the right places - Victoria's Secret catalogs, on the covers of magazines like GQ, Glamour, Maxim, Elle, Shape...the list is pretty long. It's probably safe to say - stay tuned for more of Ms. Diaz.

    3. Juan Martin Del Potro: One of the top players on the ATP circuit, Juan Martin's skill on the tennis court is only paralleled by his boyish good looks. At the tender age of 20, Juan Martin captured his first Grand Slam title - the US Open - beating both Nadal and Federer (both studs) and quickly popped up on our (and the world's) radar.

    2. Yesica Toscanini: Another Argentine fashion model, Yesica made her appearance in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazines in 2006 and 2007, and continued to make a splash through her appearances on magazine covers like Cosmopolitan, the Abercrombie & Fitch catalog, and even starred in Enrique Iglesias' "Do You Know?" music video. Yet another reason why we love Argentina.

    1. Ignacio "Nacho" Figueras: Ignacio, or Nacho, is a well-recognized face in the fashion world. He's most notably the face of Polo by Ralph Lauren, and perhaps a bit less notably a former polo player who played in Argentina. He ranks in the top 100 polo players in the world and is number 4 on the Top Icons Men list according to models.com. He's often referred to as the "David Beckham" of the polo world. We'll just refer to him as Argentina's most beautiful son.

And that rounds up our list of Top 5 Most Beautiful People From Argentina. And just as a side note, not only have these people been unfairly endowed with gorgeous physical features, it's certainly worth mentioning that they are pretty talented, too!
